Friendship!
First, I'm going to talk about the importance of friends in our lives; as we all know friends make life more fun, it's a truth besides walking in a dark with someone; a friend is so much better than walking alone in the light. There's nothing on this earth is to be prized than true friendship; it's not something you learn in school, yet if you haven't learned its meaning....you really haven't learned anything.Friendship is about timing, sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing, there's a time for silence, a time to make jokes, a time to step back and let go and allow people to face there own desteny by themselves, and there is a time to prepare to pick the pieces when it' all over, a lot of people don't value real friends, they ignore the fact that nowadays it's rare to find true friend and it's hard to keep it, one loyal friend is worth ten thosend relatives, that's what they don't seem to fully understand.
Now how about being a friend! a real one?every one is looking for a true friend but we usually forget our parts as ones, and we overlook that the only way to have a friend is to be one. It doesn't take so much to be one, just drop the many personalities you perform outside with work , life, a true friend is the person who allows you to be the real you, not somebody else, it takes caring to be a genuine friend, to ask when his gone. Always be there even in silence, be kind and listen, fun, light, serious when needed, don't be scared to tell the truth no matter how difficult it may be, guide your friend when it's needed with your honest opinion, be who you truly are, be that vulnerable, and provide the other person space, safety and choice to do the same, be genuinely happy when they get, recieve or achieve something you truly desire, share the truth in your heart, without the fear of misundersatndings, be loyal and forgive but above all, love and respect, accept the person as they are, as an andividual, without conditions, as important as it's for you to be there for them, you have to be willing to let them be there for you, and most important thing remain a friend to them despite a person's life choices and don't bail on them, walk into there lives when every one walk out. It's not hard to be a real friend, it doesn't take time or money or efforts.
Now, I will talk about two words that we often hear, acquaintances and friends, there's a difference between the two words that we must understand, the first one are the people we know, from the places we go to or where we work or from our local neighbourhood. We can meet them on a family occasions. Whe see them around in the high school playground and we say "hello, how are you?"
and the difference between the two words is simply that friends are the people we like a lot, perhaps we don't like everything about them but like I said before we accept them and we feel positive about most of their characteristics. So know the difference between the two words, because you don't want to think that your a friend of someone while your just an acquaintances! or to think you have a friend while his just an acquaintances ;)
The question we should ask ourselves when picking a friend is that would you like to be that friend for someone else!
you should be able to answer Yes!
Friend is the one who brings the best of me, remeber that when chosing your friends.
At the end, remember what Oprah Winfrey said; "Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down", because real friends don't let yoy go how matter the things went wrong with you.
